Out of a desire to return to their agricultural roots, Ilaria and Dario decided to restore a historic rural family building.

Nestled in the Emilian countryside, La Pervinca was born as an oasis where one can find peace and serenity; in nature, the periwinkle is in fact a small flower with a peculiar indigo color, seemingly simple and discreet, but with a strong relaxing power: this is precisely the philosophy they decide to follow.

The former farm building has been recovered without losing its identity. The existing accompanies the entire project, which captures and enhances its distinctive features.

The facility has 11 rooms with bathrooms and common areas adaptable to different needs.

Nothing is hidden in the design: the grain weights on the walls, the washed-out plaster, the different configurations the structure has taken over the years; each threshold is respected and each addition becomes another level of reading the building. The electrical system thus adds to a larger picture.

The essentiality of wood, plaster and metals, materials used in their pure form, and the total respect for the existing gives the rooms a singular charm, "a kind of beauty of decadence."

An indefinite, slow-running time in this gentle countryside just a few steps from the waters of the Po.

An essential project, the translation of an architecture in simplicity and directness, founding values of the tradition of the land.
